Field Network Technician

An established managed services provider, located near Forest Hills, PA, is seeking a Field Network Technician.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Will service all clients for computer / network related support within a 50-mile radius of Pittsburgh.
  • All work is dispatched from Pittsburgh office and may go to one or many clients in a day, depending on work load and time. Project work may keep tech at a specific client for multiple days.

 

Qualifications:

  • AS Degree in related technical field is required. Must have a minimum of five years of hands on technical experience servicing the corporate community.
  • Candidate should have a technical certification from and/or Microsoft, Cisco, Symantec, VMware and Hewlett Packard or equivalent.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate technical information in a lucid, coherent manner to the client are extremely important.
  • Must have experience troubleshooting and installing:

 

Software:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008/2008 R2/2012/2012 R2/2016, including SBS versions
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003/2007/2010/2013/2016, Office 365 and G Suite
  • Microsoft Windows Client Operating Systems (XP/Vista/7/8/10)
  • Cisco, WatchGuard and other software VPN clients
  • Veritas/Symantec Backup Exec (all relative current versions)
  • Symantec Endpoint Protection (all relative current versions)
  • VMware and Hyper-V hypervisors, VMware vCenter

 

Hardware:

  • WatchGuard & Cisco Hardware Firewalls/VPNs
  • HP Switches & Cisco Routers/Switches
  • HP, WatchGuard & Cisco Wireless Products
  • HP iSCSI SAN Products
  • HP ProLiant Servers (all makes and models)
  • Dell PowerEdge Servers
  • APC UPSs
  • Barracuda Networks Products

 

  • Hours: Mon – Fri 8am to 5pm (Overtime/weekends as needed)
  • Must have reliable transportation with current insurance coverage. (Mileage/Parking reimbursed once a month)
