A specialty manufacturing company, located near Morgantown, WV, is seeking an Electrical Engineer.



  • Responsible for working in corroboration with maintenance and engineering team members on challenges such as ensuring equipment and process reliability, minimizing unplanned downtime, standardizing work methodology, tracking and analyzing key reliability metrics, correcting the causes of repetitive equipment failures, establishing safe operating and maintenance procedures, and assisting  with repair work performed during major breakdowns. 
  • Considerable contact will be required to correct equipment problems or to modify equipment functions.
  • Establish and enforce policies and practices required to provide safe equipment, a safe working environment and safe work practices.
  • Promote EHS policy, implement the EHS management system and ensure continual improvement of EHS performance in day to day operations.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and safe working conditions at all times.
  • Provide competent and timely engineering support for effective and efficient maintenance and reliability of assigned equipment.
  • Develop practical solutions to repetitive equipment failure problems to contribute to the effectiveness of the maintenance effort.
  • Contribute engineering expertise to the selection of replacement or new equipment to help ensure consistency and standardization of components and ease of maintenance or repair throughout the plant.
  • Ensure all equipment recommended, repaired or modified meets all company and governmental safety and health rules and regulations to help ensure safety and well-being of employees.
  • Assist in the development of engineering or maintenance procedures and repair work to ensure they are safe, effective and efficient.
  • Expand, continually, knowledge of engineering and maintenance principles and practices.
  • Provide the lead role in the design and implementation of plant predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of a Quality System by serving as a resource to the Maintenance Teams and the Operating Teams including training of craftspeople.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering along with 3+ years working in an industrial setting
  • Exposure to equipment typically used in the metals industry is beneficial.
  • Excellent Electrical abilities -  PLC programming and hardware, VFD, Motors, Breakers and Switchgear
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels in the organization
  • Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis
  • Solid computer skills with software applications proficiency, including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD. Ability to master new software quickly
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload; must be able to manage multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail
  • High degree of initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, and ability to operate in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Must also possess leadership skills to direct, lead and develop other personnel to accomplish personal, plant and corporate objectives
  • Up to 10% travel within the US (to other company sites, if needed).
