Job Description

An established equipment engineering and manufacturing company, located south of Pittsburgh, is seeking a Field Service Technician.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for service, installation, and customer training to completion.
  • Perform electrical and PLC software troubleshooting (Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley), as instructed
  • Know the functionality of HMI displays with training
  • Able to perform calibrations and production settings to operate various systems
  • Lead troubleshooting, service calls and retrofits to find the best solution for the customer
  • Daily communication with customers by phone, email, and in person to address technical questions, service and parts
  • Hotline responsibility by using the latest innovation in a rotational dispatch phone system, assigning follow-ups and communicate with headquarters on global issues
  • Lead and execute in-house and onsite training programs
  • Work on internal projects, quality commissioning and laboratory trials
  • Evaluate and create customer contact lists and push service after market offerings
  • Understand and follow company Quality and Safety requirements and follow the Work and Safety Guidelines

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma and/or AS Degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of related electrical and mechanical field service experience required
  • Experience in capital equipment installation and service industry is highly preferred
  • Has strong skill set for electrical, piping, pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems (welding is a plus)
  • Ability to comprehend electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Good computer skills and can be trained on additional software applications
  • Develop strong relationships with customer and co-suppliers and conduct product start-ups
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as personal presentation skills
  • Team-first attitude and strong motivation to learn and grow
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Ability to think methodically, prioritize and follow up on multiple tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure to complete assignments
  • Approximately 75% domestic and international travel required
