Job Description

An established manufacturing company, located north of Pittsburgh, is seeking an Inventory Analyst.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the proper packaging and shipping of products in a timely manner per the daily/weekly/monthly shipping schedule.
  • Keep track of all products and supplies, ensuring that stock is organized, and assisting in the unloading and processing deliveries.
  • Perform daily transactions and maintain inventory control.
  • Will also be responsible for shipping and receiving responsibilities.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing shipments. Work with transportation carriers and maintain shipping supplies.
  • Prepare items for shipment using proper tools and packaging materials, including boxing, construction, crating, shrink wrapping etc.
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject/report damaged items, and record shortages.
  • Perform unpacking of shipment deliveries, enter product into Global Shop Solutions (GSS) and store in proper warehouse location.
  • Maintain GSS inventory and management system to ensure actual physical inventory matches database logical inventory. Investigate/correct inventory discrepancies.
  • Communicate effectively with internal manufacturing and supervisory concerning materials, inventory and shipment issues.
  • Deliver product or other materials to departments.
  • Cycle counting of inventory to help maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Operate lift truck/hand truck to move or store materials.
  • Cross-train to back-up in various office positions (Planning, Purchasing, and Inside Sales) to help aide in the growth of the business by freeing up other people to work closer with vendors and customers.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in manufacturing or distribution operations.
  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving and inventory control procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to learn and effectively use Global Shop Solutions software.
  • Able to safely operate a forklift or other lift/transport equipment.
  • Able to use hand/power tools as required.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with manufacturing, internal support groups, and external transportation carriers.
  • Able to stand for long periods and manually lift up to 50 lbs.

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 5am-5pm (must work four 10 hour shifts), possible OT on Fridays
