Job Description

A specialized engineering and equipment company, located near Cranberry Township, PA, is seeking a Rebuild Technician.


  • Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce, fabricate, modify, repair, and test precision parts and mechanical instruments.
  • Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required.
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media according to established guidelines and procedures.
  • Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines as required.
  • Measure, examine and test units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Verify specified dimensions of products or materials.
  • Reject defective parts and marks type of defect on parts, container of parts, or inspection tags.
  • Test products for structural defects such as leaks and internal cracks. Tests mechanisms for clearance and freedom of movement.
  • Inspect, adjust, and verify accuracy of gauges and measuring instruments for conformance to specifications.
  • Examine defective parts to determine cause of defect and recommend changes or modifications.
  • Test functional performance of systems, subassemblies, and parts under specified environmental conditions such as temperature change, vibration, pressure, and humidity.
  • Calibrate test instruments according to specifications.
  • Connect unit to be tested to test equipment and analyze test results on defective units to determine cause of failure.

Job Requirements


  • HS Diploma and/or AS Degree and a minimum of 2 years related experience
  • Must have experience in fabrication, machining, troubleshooting, repair, teardown and rebuild of mechanical parts
  • Must be able to interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications
  • Must have strong mechanical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm, plus possible OT
