Senior Mechanical Engineer

An established architectural / engineering firm, located in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer.

Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with a team of Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers to create high quality designs for clients.
• Responsible for the mechanical design of HVAC systems for a variety of facilities / applications and project management.
• Equipment sizing and selection (chillers, boilers, AHU’s, fans, ductwork, pumps, pipes, etc.)
• Responsible for specification writing and editing.
• Minimal travel to client sites.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
• Minimum of 5 years of related mechanical engineering experience; consulting engineering experience strongly desired
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
• Knowledge of building codes and standards such as IMC and NFPA
• Knowledge and experience in cooling and heating load calculations using Trane Trace or Carrier HAPS
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience with micro grids, data centers, and prime power generation a plus
• Interest/experience in the application of green engineering principles; LEED AP certification is a definite asset
• Must have creative problem-solving skills, strong organizational habits, and a commitment to client service
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and people management ability

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (Flexible)
