Job Description
A well-established IT managed services firm, located in downtown Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a Technical Support Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Perform & manage projects for servers, networks, cloud infrastructure & more
- Engage with client as the “voice of the customer”
- Work closely with service desk team, customers and senior engineers to address on-site support issues related to computer, server, network and other issues
- Provide escalation support to service desk team
- Design, install, troubleshoot, & maintain cloud infrastructure, network, server equipment, & other hardware & software
- Communicate with clients to resolve problems, design infrastructure, assist with growth planning, and provide best practice analysis
- Client IT Security management
- Assist with formulating growth plans & recommend best practices for clients
- Communicate with vendors & 3rd parties for clients
- Perform and oversee software and application development, installation, and upgrades
- Train clients to use hardware, software and other systems
- Configure, maintain, monitor & back up servers & appliances
- Provide technical support for customers - phone, remote and on-site
- Maintain ticketing, time and billing, scheduling and other internal business processes
- Ticketing and time and billing entries daily
- Communication - Professional and timely communication with customers, vendors, 3rd parties, co-engineers, and management to consistently ensure projects & service requests are completely in a timely manner and to the satisfaction of the customer
- Approximately 50% travel throughout Western PA; could vary from week to week
- Rotating client emergency on-call schedule is usually 1 week every couple months
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in an IT-related field and 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position required
- Experience with Microsoft Server OS and desktop systems is required
- Must have experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure Active Directory administration, Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange online, VMWare, Hyper-V, firewall and networking configuration/administration, performing and managing server, and cloud, Microsoft 365 migrations
- Preferred experience with Microsoft Azure, Teams, Cloud services administration, Managed Services, Autotask, Datto, Cisco Meraki
- Client-focused with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Good attitude and team-oriented
- A registered vehicle and a valid Driver's License required for occasional trips to client sites (mileage/tolls/parking reimbursed)
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (Flexible hybrid work schedule available)
